Skinner is most well associated with Behaviorism. Learning is observable, an experiment. Behavior is trained via pleasure with rewards or discouraged with punishments. Behaviorism doesn't allow for real connections to be made with the material. Students will do the work with the least amount of effort or maximum gain with least effort.

It's frustrating that while most people acknowledge that Behaviorism doesn't work, it is what leads to the "ideal" classroom with quiet students, teacher at the front of the classroom, dispensing knowledge at their pleasure.
