I think Constructivism is one of my favorite theories of learning. I am a sociocognitivist at heart. True learning is a group effort because no one is isolated. Everyone brings something to the table and the group is improved when we incorporate everyone's viewpoint. Even though the learning is social, the meaning is personal. What Sally Jo gets out of the discussion on The Great Gatsby is different than what Nicholas is going to get out of it. AND THAT IS COMPLETELY FINE. As Richardson said, the students are going to learn regardless of you as a teacher. Sometimes, they will learn in spite of you.
